VISION FOR WENDELL

Wendell continues to grow and with that growth comes opportunity. The decisions we make today will shape the kind of community we become tomorrow. Since first taking office in 2021, I’ve worked to ensure that Wendell’s growth brings lasting benefits to the people who live here. That means making smart investments, supporting vibrant neighborhoods, and planning for long-term success.

Strong Neighborhoods

Growth should strengthen our community and improve quality of life. I support development that's well-integrated with its surroundings and planned with intention. That includes:

  • Balancing residential and commercial growth so Wendell can be more than just a bedroom community.
  • Creating more pathways to homeownership and encouraging a mix of housing types that meet the needs of Wendell’s growing and diverse population.
  • Preserving historic and natural assets and increasing public access to them through parks, greenways, and partnerships with community organizations.

Reliable Infrastructure

As Wendell grows, we need to keep pace with infrastructure that supports safe, connected, and resilient neighborhoods. That’s why I’m focused on:

  • Expanding our sidewalk and greenway networks so more residents can walk or bike safely to schools, parks, and downtown.
  • Upgrading stormwater systems, street maintenance, and traffic safety through consistent investment and planning.
  • Advocating for regional transportation solutions and seeking funding at the local, state, and federal level to meet all our infrastructure needs.

A Thriving, Welcoming Community

Wendell’s small-town feel and strong sense of place are some of our greatest strengths. As we grow, we must protect what makes our town special while embracing new opportunities. I’m committed to:

  • Revitalizing downtown through business-friendly policies, targeted incentives, and implementation of our new streetscape plan.
  • Expanding parks, trails, and cultural programming that give all residents more ways to connect, relax, and enjoy where they live.
  • Keeping Wendell safe and community-oriented by supporting strong public safety services and the people who provide them.
